Mueller's team deliberately edited
content in a deceptive way, which
was then cited as evidence of possible
obstruction of justice.
This concerns a newly released transcript
of a November 2017 voicemail message,
left by former Trump lawyer John Dowd,
in which he asked former national security
adviser Michael Flynn's attorney
for a "heads up", if Flynn was planning
on saying anything that might damage
the president.
Mueller's team deliberately
edited the transcript to imply
Dowd was trying to pressure Flynn
and possibly obstruct justice,
by shaping witness testimony,
while the actual voicemail reveals
that Dowd was careful NOT to tread
into obstruction territory, in what
was a friendly and routine call
between lawyers.
Mueller's team removed words
revealing Dowd asked for a heads up
"without you having to give up any
... confidential information"
in order to determine
"If, on the other hand ...
there's information that
... implicates the President,
then we've got
a national security issue,
... we got to deal with,
not only for the President ,
but for the country".
Former Trump lawyer John Dowd,
responding Robert Mueller's
deceptive edits of his voicemail
to General Flynn's lawyer, said:
"It is unfair and despicable.
"It is unfair and despicable.
It was a friendly privileged call
between counsel - with NO conflict.
I think Flynn got screwed"
Flynn pleaded guilty last year
to lying to the FBI about contacts
with Russians ( that he was asked
to make, and that were legal ),
and is currently awaiting sentencing.
The Justice Department resisted
a court order to release the transcripts
of Flynn's conversations with Russian
officials, including former Russian
ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Did the DOJ violate
a court order from
Judge Emmett Sullivan
to produce that evidence
during discovery?
The judge's 5/16 Court Order
required the production of
"the transcripts of any other
audio recordings of Mr. Flynn,
including, but not limited to,
audio recordings of Mr. Flynn's
conversations with Russian officials".
