Former Trump fan Ann Coulter now attacks Trump !

Due Diligence:
I bought nine of Coulter's books
at the Salvation Army, over the years,
for 25 cents each, and thought most
were good, although only Mugged,
from 2012, was worth the retail price.

Ann Coulter on TV is an attack dog
that does not resemble her books !
She attacks Democrats and leftists,
which I would normally enjoy,
as a libertarian, but in an obnoxious way,
that makes me change the channel,
and she's so skinny that
I can't look at her either !

Coulter's fault has been such a
strong focus on bashing Democrats,
and "Republicans in Name Only",
that she had overlooked too many
of Trump's faults.

Not any more !

Surprising almost everyone,
Coulter made Trump
her target after his signature
of the $1.3 trillion spending bill.

Ann Coulter was an early and loyal
Trump supporter, especially
attracted to his position
against illegal immigration.

She has now called Trump
a "shallow, lazy ignoramus,"
who is "not giving us what
he promised at every single
campaign stop."

That Trump signed that bill
didn't surprise me.

Here's what I wrote about Trump in my
March April 2018 economics newsletter:
  "President Trump's pre-election promises
added up to a huge amount of government
spending. He was for expensive things
Democrats usually want (infrastructure spending,
and no cuts of entitlements), plus expensive things
Republicans usually want (more military spending,
and corporate / personal tax cuts). "

The $1.3 billion spending bill
set conservative author Ann Coulter
on the warpath against the President,
and few people, men or women,
could be on the warpath like
Ann Coulter !

I have said many times
in my economics newsletter,
that Trump made a huge
number of promises
during the 2016 campaign,
that added up to promising
a lot of deficit spending,
something Republicans were
against when Obama was
the president !

The only way to make all those
promises come true would be
for the Senate to vote on the
filibuster rules, and eliminate them
with a simple majority vote.

That could be done in one day,
but no Republican even talks
about it, except Trump,
who calls it "the nuclear option",
as if passing legislation
with a majority vote
would be something bad !

Eliminate the ridiculous
filibuster rules, that have
nothing in common with
the original intent of the rules
and the next day
all Senate legislation
could be passed with 51 votes,
rather than the 60 votes
now required for filibuster closure,
with rare exceptions.

Coulter spoke to a Columbia University
audience of College Republicans
( probably not many there ! )
and a few leftist hecklers.

Coulter claims
she once engaged Trump in
a "profanity-laced shouting match"
in the Oval Office last year
over his weak follow-through
on immigration promises
he made during the campaign.

“He’s not giving us
what he promised
at every single
campaign stop.”

“We had 16 lunatics (Republicans)
being chased by men with nets
running for president—and Trump."

"So of course I had to be
pedal-to-the-metal
for Donald Trump."

"I’d been waiting 30 years
for someone to say
all these things —
that illegal immigration
is hurting low-income
American citizens
and carries with it
high rates of crime."

“I knew he was a
shallow, lazy ignoramus,
and I didn’t care.”

"The (rich) people
bringing in Juanita, the maid,
and underpaying her,
are the racists,”

Coulter told Fox Business
Network's Lou Dobbs:

 "A switch changed
with him (Trump)."

"An elegant person
would not have said
the things he was saying."

"It was precisely that
he was so coarse
that allowed him to say
these incredibly
courageous things."

"He didn't care
what Manhattan elites
thought of him."

“Now all he wants
is for Goldman Sachs
to like him."

"I don’t know what happened."

"But that’s a different president."

"I haven’t changed. He has.”

Losing the support of Ann Coulter
was surprising only to people
who didn't realize Trump grossly
over promised what could deliver
in one term ... unless the Senate
filibuster rules were changed,

I disagree with Coulter about
Trump being lazy --  he may not
appear to read many (any?) books,
but he out-hustled Hillary during
the campaign, as if he was
a young man, not a 70 year-old !
