Wiretapping Mr. Trump ?

In March 2017, President Donald Trump claimed he’d had his “wires tapped” prior to the 2016 election.

The media and Obama-era officials quickly attacked the accusation as a fantasy.

Now CNN has reported that the FBI obtained a warrant last year to eavesdrop on Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager from May 2016 to August 2016.

CNN, which hates Trump, claims the FBI first wiretapped Mr. Manafort in 2014 while investigating his work as a lobbyist for Ukraine’s ruling party.

That warrant expired, but the FBI convinced the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court (a judge) to issue a second wiretap order concerning Russian meddling in the election.

Manafort has lived in a Trump Tower condo since 2006.

Mr. Manafort resigned from the campaign in August 2016, but continued to speak with Candidate Trump.

The FBI was listening to election-related conversations of a contender for the White House.

Mr. Comey told Congress in late March 2017 that he
“had no information that supports those (Trump) tweets (on wiretapping).”

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said: “there was no such wiretap activity mounted against—the President-elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign.”

Clapper denied that any FISA order existed.

The FISA court is supposed to set a high bar for warrants on U.S. citizens!

We now know Mr. Comey’s FBI was investigating BOTH presidential campaigns in an election year!

The Justice Department and FBI have also stonewalled Congressional requests for documents and interviews, citing the “integrity” of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation?

But Mr. Mueller is not investigating the FBI -- if he was, Mueller's close friendship with Mr. Comey would create a huge conflict of interest.

Comey committed a felony by leaking confidential information to the New York Times that led to Mr. Mueller's appointment as Special Council.

I believe, and have said it before in this blog, that Mr. Comey should be in prison for the fake FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton, repeatedly lying under oath to Congress, and for leaking confidential information intended to get a special prosecutor hired.

A Special Council was hired as a result of Comey's leak of his notes, allegedly made right after a meeting with President Trump -- but I don't trust the contents of the Comey notes to be true, because that man can not be trusted !

The Comey leak led to appointment of Special Council Robert Mueller, who then hired (almost all) Democrat prosecutors, who will continue work until they find something -- anything -- to charge a Trump associate with -- probably charges unrelated to Russia.

There is no doubt James Comey influenced the 2016 election.

There is also no doubt 'Trump Tower was wiretapped', as Trump claimed earlier this year.

At the least, Trump's conversations with his campaign manager Paul Manafort were recorded ... but I suspect a lot more that that was "overheard".
