Summary of the Podesta emails - 23 items

23 recent email revelations:

(1)
Hillary's desire to see Obamacare "unravel", to be replaced by a system where the government runs the medical insurance business.

(2)
Hillary's contempt for "doofus" Bernie Sanders.

(3)
Hillary staff exchanges on handling media queries about Clinton “flip-flopping” on gay marriage.

(4)
How "captured" the so-called independent press has been in its "off the record" discussions with John Podesta which got the head Politico correspondent, Glenn Thrush, to admit he is a "hack" for allowing Podesta to dictate the content of his article.

(5)
A September 2015 email exchange between Podesta and Nick Merrill, framed the “core language” to be used in response to questions Clinton could be asked about her email server, and the decision to “bleach” emails from it.

The emails contain long and short versions of responses for Clinton to choose:

Long version:
“Because the government already had everything that was work-related, and my personal emails were just that –  personal – I didn’t see a reason to keep them so I asked that they be deleted, and that’s what the company that managed my server did. "

Short version:
“After we went through the process to determine what was work related and what was not and provided the work related emails to State, I decided not to keep the personal ones."

Another email reveals the close relationship between the Clinton Foundation and Ukraine billionaire Victor Pinchuk, a prominent donor to the Clinton Foundation, who attempts to get a meeting with Bill Clinton to show support for Ukraine:

From: Tina Flournoy <Tina@presidentclinton.com>

Team HRC - we'll get back to you on this

Victor Pinchuk is relentlessly following up (including this morning) about a meeting with WJC in London or anywhere in Europe.

Ideally he wants to bring together a few western leaders to show support for Ukraine, with WJC probably their most important participant.

If that's not palatable for us, then he'd like a bilat with WJC.

If it's not next week, that's fine, but he wants a date.

I keep saying we have no Europe plans, although we do have those events in London in June.

Are folks comfortable offering Victor a private meeting on one of those dates?

At this point I get the impression that although I keep saying WJC cares about Ukraine, Pinchuk feels like WJC hasn't taken enough action to demonstrate that, particularly during this existential moment for the county and for him.

Another notable moment emerges in the emails,  involving Hillary Clinton's selective memory.

Clinton’s description of herself as a moderate Democrat at a September 2015 event in Ohio caused an uproar amongst her team.

In an email from Clinton advisor Neera Tanden to Podesta in the days following the comment she asks why she said this.

“I pushed her on this on Sunday night.

She claims she didn't remember saying it.

Not sure I believe her,” Podesta replies.

Tanden insists that the comment has made her job more difficult after “telling every reporter I know she's actually progressive”.

“It worries me more that she doesn't seem to know what planet we are all living in at the moment,” she adds.

Paul Combetta of Platte River Networks deleted Hillary's 30,000+ "personal emails" with BleachBit

So which version below is true?

-  FBI Notes on Hillary interview:
"Clinton stated she was also unaware of the March 2015 e-mail deletions by PRN."

-  Judicial Watch written testimony from Hillary under oath:
"She believes that her personal e-mails were not kept, and she does not have any personal knowledge about the details of that process."

-  Private Talking Points (from WikiLeaks):
"As I said in March, I chose not to keep the personal ones.  I asked that they be deleted."

On March 25, 2015 Paul Combetta realized that he had forgotten since December 2014 to change Hillary's email retention policy to only 60 days.

But the existence of the Congressional subpoena now meant that those emails needed to be preserved.

Despite acknowledging the subpoena, after a call with Hillary's attorney, David Kendall, and Cheryl Mills, Combetta proceeded to delete the emails anyway.

Both Mills and Clinton subsequently denied any knowledge that the "personal emails" were deleted.

"Mills stated she was unaware that [Redacted] had conducted these deletions and modifications in March 2015.

Clinton stated she was also unaware of the March 2015 e-mail deletions by PRN."

Consider one Hillary "answer" to Judicial Watch as part of a FOIA lawsuit provided under oath.

    Judicial Watch Question:
After your lawyers completed their review of the emails in your clintonemail.com email account in late 2014, were the electronic versions of your emails preserved, deleted, or destroyed?

If they were deleted or destroyed, what tool or software was used to delete or destroy them, who deleted or destroyed them, and was the deletion or destruction done at your direction?

    Hillary Clinton (non)Response:
Secretary Clinton objects to Interrogatory No. 23 as outside the scope of permitted discovery for the reason set forth in General Objection No. 3.

Secretary Clinton further objects to Interrogatory No. 23 on the ground that it requests information that is outside the scope of permitted discovery for the reason set forth in General Objection No. 5.

Secretary Clinton further objects to Interrogatory No. 23 insofar as it requests information about all e-mail in her clintonemail.com account, including personal e-mail.

Subject to and without waiving the foregoing objections, Secretary Clinton states that it was her expectation that all of her work-related and potentially work-related e-mail then in her custody would be provided to the State Department in response to its request.

Secretary Clinton believes that her attorneys retained copies of the e-mails provided to the State Department in December 2014, but she does not have any personal knowledge about the details of that process.

Secretary Clinton decided that, once her work-related and potentially work-related e-mails were provided to the State Department, she had no reason to keep her personal e-mails, which did not relate to official State Department business.

She believes that her personal e-mails were not kept, and she does not have any personal knowledge about the details of that process.

Clinton Foundation Insider Makes Stunning Admission:
"Bill Is Far More Conflicted Every Single Day"

Chelsea raised concerns over potential conflicts of interest related to Clinton Foundation's Doug Band's firm, Teneo, which she thought had sought favors from the State Department on behalf of clients, including MF Global.

Band escalates the situation with a litany of other Clinton Foundation conflicts including with Bill Clinton who he says is "far more conflicted every single day in what he does" than Teneo.

Clinton Foundation's Justin Cooper then decides to pile on by also highlighting Bill's many conflicts.

Cooper expresses frustration that nothing in the proposed conflicts resolution memo addresses "how wjc's activities interface with each other or how this structure resolves his own conflicts."

 (11)
Clinton campaign manager, Robby Mook, says Bill's March 15, 2015 speech to Morgan Stanley may be delayed ... a delay that Mook would prefer because it corresponds with Hillary's first day of campaigning in Iowa which Mook argues is just "begging for a bad rollout."

But apparently Hillary was more in favor of collecting the speaking fees, as Huma shoots back that "HRC very strongly did not want him to cancel that particular speech."

(12)
Two Clinton staffers ponder why Bill refuses to have dinner with small donors.  As Teddy Geoff points out:

"I don't understand why the optics of hobnobbing with the rich and powerful are somehow better than the optics of sitting down with a few $5 donors. it seems like the latter is what we ought to be emphasizing, not running away from."

(13)
In another email John Podesta says that an excuse for having the email server at home "would fall apart under scrutiny":

"IRS was hacked.

I think the State Department was hacked.

Sony hacked.

Banks hacked.

As we try and close the Benghazi Chapter and the email drip drip.

Is there ever a moment in Time not to Defend the decision but layout the facts ... HRC servers were not hacked.

Know this is a naive thought but just thinking."

(14)
An email from Huma Abedin to Robby Mook and Podesta from January 2015 discussed Morocco donating to the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) to get access to Clinton.

“Just to give you some context, the condition upon which the Moroccans agreed to host the meeting was her participation,” says Abedin.

“If hrc was not part of it, meeting was a non-starter.”

Abedin continues.

“The King has personally committed approx $12 million both for the endowment and to support the meeting.”

Clinton’s State Department had accused Morocco of “arbitrary arrests and corruption” in 2011.

“She created this mess and she knows it,” Abedin adds.

(15)
Each new WikiLeaks dump of Podesta emails includes at least one gem from Clinton aide Doug Band who seemingly came under internal attack at the Clinton Foundation for his "conflicts of interest."

The constant attacks, initiated by Chelsea Clinton, put him on the defensive.

Band laments about having to sign a "conflict of interest" agreement while Bill Clinton, despite his many conflicts, did not.

"Oddly, wjc does not have to sign such a document even though he is personally paid by 3 cgi sponsors, gets many expensive gifts from them, some that are at home etc"

"I could add 500 different examples of things like this".

(16)
There was an internal Clinton Foundation power struggle between Chelsea Clinton and Doug Band that started in 2011 when, as Chelsea started to take a more senior role at the Foundation.

Unlike her parents, and to her credit, Chelsea became increasingly concerned about an internal audit that exposed glaring conflicts of interest throughout the Foundation. with an emphasis on Doug Band and his company, Teneo.

Chelsea thought Teneo had inappropriately sought favors from the State Department during Hillary's tenure as Secretary of State.

Chelsea was blamed in some quarters for marginalizing Doug Band, who rose from the president’s body man to build and help run the foundation’s subsidiary Clinton Global Initiative.

One of Chelsea's complaints about Doug Band:
"my father was told today of explicit examples at Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) of Doug/ Teneo pushing for - and receiving - free memberships - and of multiple examples of Teneo 'hustling' business at CGI - and of people now having quit at CGI"

One of Doug Band's complaints about Chelsea Clinton:
"She (Chelsea) is acting like a spoiled brat kid who has nothing else to do but create issues to justify what she's doing because she, as she has said, hasn't found her way and has a lack of focus in her life. I realize she will be off of this soon but if it doesn't come soon enough...."

Band sent one email saying Chelsea had pushed Clinton Foundation COO, Laura Graham, to the brink of suicide: "...on staten island in her car parked a few feet from the waters edge with her foot on the gas pedal and the car in park.  She called me to tell me the stress of all of this office crap with wjc and cvc as well as that of her family had driven her to the edge and she couldn't take it anymore."

(17)
State Department, Patrick Kennedy, and an FBI agent.

Kennedy contacted someone within the FBI to seek "assistance in altering the email's classification in exchange for a 'quid pro quo.'"

In return for altering the email's classification, Kennedy promised that "STATE (department) would reciprocate by allowing the FBI to place more Agents in countries where they are presently forbidden."

Kennedy needed the email to be changed to unclassified because it "caused problems for Kennedy" who wanted to reclassify the email as "B9" which would exempt it from FOIA discovery and allow Kennedy to "archive the document in the basement of Department of State never to be seen again."

According to Fox News, government sources have confirmed that the email behind the "quid pro quo" arrangement is the one below sent from Jake Sullivan to Hillary on November 18, 2012 at 8:44PM.

The email is heavily redacted but seemingly includes intelligence on the Benghazi attackers who stormed a U.S. compound the previous month on September 11, 2012.

Given that the email was marked "Classified: SECRET", perhaps he was simply concerned that it proved that Hillary sent classified information over her private network.

Or, given the timing of the message being sent just 12 days after the election in 2012, perhaps there is evidence in the email that Hillary and Obama both knew from the beginning that the September 11 attacks in Benghazi were never just a "spontaneous reaction to a youtube video" but a coordinated terrorist attack.

(18)
The State Department questioned the competency of FBI investigators and the accuracy of the FBI interview summaries that report Kennedy wanted a back room deal on the record.

"An FBI 302 does not contain opinion work by the FBI," defense lawyer Edward MacMahon Jr. said. "

If somebody said that somebody offered me for something else, and that's in a 302, that agent is going to say I’m sure that that's exactly what happened."

Meanwhile Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), has promised more congressional hearings to get to the bottom of what he described as "some of the most unbelievable set of documents that we've seen to date."

Pressing for changes to the email classification after a congressional subpoena and preservation order were issued in March 2015 would have the effect of changing evidence, according to Republicans pursuing the matter.

(19)
Project Veritas released an undercover video exposing coordinated efforts between the Hillary Clinton campaign, the Democratic National Committee, Democracy Partners (run by Robert Creamer) and The Foval Group (run by Scott Foval) to incite violence at Trump rallies across the country.

"Aaron Black" (real name:  Aaron Minter)  (appears at 9 mins 10 secs):  "So, I'm basically deputy rapid response director for the DNC for all thing Trump on the ground.

Nobody is really supposed to know about me.

So the Chicago protest when they shut all that, that was us.

It was more him (Bob Creamer) than me, but non of this is supposed to come back to us, because we want it coming from people, we don't want it to come from the party."

Bob Creamer (appears at 10 mins 50 secs):
"We have a call with the campaign every day to go over the focuses that need to be undertaken."

Zulema Rodrigues (appears at 10 mins 58 secs):
"I just had a call with the campaign and the DNC. Everyday at one o'clock."

Several of the video comments above line up perfectly with the email below in which Bob Creamer reaches out to Luis Miranda, the Communications Director for the Democratic National Committee, to setup a conference call.

Here are a couple of the "coincidences":

First, the call is titled the "Trump Rapid Response" call, which perfectly aligns with Aaron Black's comment above that he is the "Rapid Response Director."

Second, the call is scheduled for 1pm which is exactly when Zulema Rodriguez confirms that she has her daily call with the "campaign and the DNC."

This is also the same Robert Creamer who was found to have visited the White House over 200 times during the Obama administration including 45 meetings with the President himself.

Within the video, an undercover journalist details a plan to register Hispanic voters illegally by having them work as contractors, to which Creamer can be heard offering support saying that “there are a couple of organizations that that’s their big trick".

The embarrassing video caused Creamer to resign from consulting the Hillary campaign as he issued a statement saying that he was "stepping back from my responsibilities working the [Hillary] campaign" over fears that his continued assistance would be a distraction for the campaign.

A quick look at Wikipedia reveals that Creamer spent 5 months in federal prison back in 2006 for a "$2.3 million bank fraud in relation to his operation of public interest groups in the 1990s."

Mr. Robert Creamer showed up on the White House visitor logs 340 times beginning in 2009 when Obama took office and culminating with his latest visit in June 2016.

In 45 of those instances, Creamer was scheduled to meet with Obama himself.

Obama used a non-secure non-government server too:

An email from John Podesta to "bobama@ameritech.net", advising President Obama not to attend a G-20 November 2008 meeting:

From: John Podesta [mailto:john.podesta@gmail.com]

Sent: Tuesday, November 04, 2008 3:39 PM

To: bobama@ameritech.net

Subject: G-20

"I don't want to bug you today, but the memo pasted below concerns a possible invitation to the G-20 meeting on November 15. On the chance that President Bush would raise this with you tonight, I wanted you to be aware that it is the unanimous recommendation for your advisors that you NOT attend. As long as you are aware of that, we can review the contents of the memo tomorrow."

(21)
Eric Braverman was brought in as Clinton Foundation CEO by Chelsea to change controversial dishonest practices.

Neera Tanden warns John Podesta to "keep tabs on Doug Band" who she assumed was the insider who told NBC to "follow the money and find the real HRC scandal."

Interestingly, John Podesta writes back quickly to identify the real source as former Clinton Foundation CEO Eric Braverman which seems to be shocking to Tanden who replies simply, "Holy Moses."

In December 2014, the board of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation approved a salary of more than $395,000, plus bonus, for its Yale-educated CEO, Eric Braverman.

At one point, Braverman expressed interest in exposing corruption within the Clinton Foundation, which had been accepting contributions from foreign governments with lax oversight from the State Department when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.

Braverman  abruptly resigned a short time later after being pushed out by long-time Clinton loyalists who had apparently grown very comfortable with the status quo.

In a March 2014 email from John Podesta's son Gabe, a USAF Judge Advocate, wrote to his family and father John, from Afghanistan, explaining what Americans are really doing in Afghanistan and comparing his workplace to the fashion show ‘Project Runway’.

"when I learned that I was deploying to support a contracting command, I figured I would learn about the Afghan economy.

What I hadn't figured was that those lessons would have nothing to do with my official duties.

When I stepped off the helo pad at Camp Phoenix and into my office for the first time I was immediately introduced to GS-15 DoD employee.

She asked me how many "cartouches"I wished to purchase.

A cartouche, I learned, is a cheap pendant necklace engraved on one side with an English name and on the other with the same name in Dari (or so they claim; it may well say Go Home American Swine for all any of us know).

I initially demurred but eventually relented and agreed to purchase three.

Even that compromise was met with an incredulous look and a puzzled "just three?"

The interaction seemed odd but I figured that I just happened to arrive as a bulk order was being placed and that purchases like this were atypical.

I was wrong.

My coworkers spend multiple duty hours each and every day shopping at the bazaars.

They buy jewelry.

They buy rugs.

They buy electronics.

They buy fur coats.

Fur coats!

Not a day goes by without someone coming into my office to show off a new purchase.

My Afghanistan workplace is Project Runway and I'm Tim Gunn.

I disapprove of everything around me and hope everyone will be sent home
.

Yesterday a handful of them reviewed their bank statements to figure out how much they've spent since being here.

Consensus was between five and ten thousand dollars.

Throughout my life I've been called cheap.

Throughout my life I've been called crotchety.

So maybe this is just a continuation of the same but I thoroughly disapprove.

Rather than speak up, however, I sit here meekly and feign agreement with the ridiculous notion that a mink fur will look resplendent at the Dyess Officers' Club in Abilene, TX when she redeploys this summer.

Hope you are well. Love and miss you all.

And no, I will not put in purchase orders for you.

Gabe"

And that's why US intervention in Afghanistan has achieved absolutely nothing.

(23)
In an August 2015 email, Clinton Global Initiative Deputy Director Ed Hughes sent an email to Ami tabh Desai, Director of Foreign Policy at the Clinton Foundation, in which he suggests that the Foundation has become a "doormat to the Jordanians":

"I'm all seriousness, I really want to know how you think you are serving President Clinton's interests by serving as a doormat to the Jordanians? How is his legacy enhanced by that?

It's not our job to be rubber stamps."
