Ye Editor's two cents on the Covid madness (three cents including inflation)

Almost all the Covid madness is government-inflicted, other than voluntary social distancing, which does reduce the spread of respiratory diseases. Something that has been known for over a century. Of course in the past it was sick people who social distanced from healthy people. And people determined they were sick because they had symptoms -- no test or doctor was needed to tell them they were infected with something.

This pandemic will end the same way all pandemics end. The deadly virus will mutate into less deadly variants over a year or two. Then COVID will be "just another type of flu" that no one thinks about, unless they catch it.

We are extremely lucky that after three small mutations of the original COVID virus, a miracle has happened.  And I don't say that much, as an atheist.

Each prior Covid variant so far had typical mutations. One or two mutations of the spike protein, And symptoms similar to the prior variant, although a little less deadly, but not much.

And then someone who was infected with Delta Covid and a coronavirus common cold at the same time, spawned a new virus, that we now call Omicron.

Omicron is not a new Covid variant. It is a new coronavirus common cold. We know that because it had 30 mutations of the spike protein, not one or two.  We know that because symptoms are like a cornonavirus common cold, not like Delta Covid.

Omicron spreads easier than any common cold I know of, but the symptoms are just like a common cold -- not something to be feared. Our fascist politicians are to be feared with their Covid scaremongering, but not Omicron.

Will Omicron infections crowd out Delta Covid infections. Let's hope so. Because lots of Omicron infections will mean far fewer hospitalizations and very few deaths. Just like a common cold.

Omicron is the beginning of the end of the pandemic.

But I don't know if Omicron is the beginning of the end of government fascism, The Government Rule by Experts in the past two years proved the bureaucrats were not experts on anything. We don't want to be ruled by them, or anyone else.

Note: This essay was based on my study of prior viral epidemics. I can't prove Covid will follow the same pattern. In fact, I have a theory that it is impossible to prove anything. But I can't prove it. -- Don't let Covid madness prevent you from having a happy life.
