My summary of the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol Building:

With the latest link, above, the evidence is growing that many, if not most of the people who broke into the Capitol Building, had planned to do so in advance of the Trump speech, which was about two miles away. The shocking "invasion" started before Trump's speech ended, which was about 45 minutes away, if you walked.
The number of leftists involved in the riot keeps growing. They did not disguise themselves well, even those trying to appear to be Trump supporters. They allowed themselves to be videotaped inside the Capitol building, brought tools with them, such as an armored vest, a gas mask or a bullhorn. They tended to be younger than typical Trump rally attendees, and usually wore masks, which are surprisingly rare at Trump rallies.
My rough estimates are 200,000 people at the Trump rally. Up to 98% of them did not walk the two miles, at least 45 minutes away in 40 degree F. weather, to the Capitol building.
There were up to 10,000 people protesting OUTSIDE the Capitol building. I don't know if a majority walked there from the Trump rally. About 300 people of the 10,000 broke into the Capitol building, which is a crime.
Protestors were already at the Capitol building before Trump started speaking. Left wing protests were planned at the Capitol building too.
Pipe bombs were found at the Democrat National Committee headquarters and the Republican National Committee headquarters, while Trump was speaking, obviously planned in advance of the speech.
Many of the people at the Trump rally who walked the two miles to the Capitol building, had started walking there BEFORE Trump called for a peaceful protest there, which is legal free speech, although foolish politically .. because the 2020 election was already decided on December 16, 2020.
The protest on January 6, 2021 was too late, and in the wrong place -- state legislatures should have been protested before December 16, 2020, with concerns about election fraud. Not to mention the COVID-19 risks of having so many people near each other, most not wearing masks.
January 6, 2021 was just a constitutional formality led by Vice President Pence -- the election was decided on December 16, 2020, and no state legislatures had reversed their November 3, 2020 vote certifications since then.
There was a precedent for a VP rejecting a state's electors -- VP Thomas Jefferson did that when he was running for president -- he gave himself the presidency. Not exactly the reason he ended up on Mount Rushmore!
Trump claimed he won the election after two months of investigations by his lawyers, with insufficient evidence to prove that. A political mistake even if there was no violence. Trump might be right, but has insufficient evidence to make that claim.
There was a lot of evidence of election fraud, which we all knew would happen with so many mailed in ballots. But we have no idea what the actual numbers of legal votes were in 2020, and we may never know.
State politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, apparently do not want to know the truth. The truth might make their state look bad !
