Trump's speech lasted about 1 hour and 12 minutes. At 18:10 into the video at the link below, the VERY important quote in the title of this article was said.
Here is the important line:
"We’re going to have to fight much harder and Mike Pence is going to have to come through for us. If he doesn’t, that will be a sad day for our country because you’re sworn to uphold our Constitution. Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. After this, we’re going to walk down and I’ll be there with you. We’re going to walk down. We’re going to walk down any one you want, but I think right here. We’re going walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators, and congressmen and women. We’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.
We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.
Today we will see whether Republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections, but whether or not they stand strong for our country, our country. Our country has been under siege for a long time, far longer than this four-year period. We’ve set it on a much straighter course.... [emphasis added] "
That line was completely ignored by the 95 percent pro-Democrat biased mainstream media.
Meaning that the mainstream media deliberately distorted Trump's call for a peaceful protest by his supporters.
The media had previously grossly under-reported the violence at the "peaceful protests" in summer 2020.
They were actually riots with felony assaults, attacks on police, murders, looting and arson. Those riots were by Democrats and Antifa.
If leftists did not have double standards, they would have no standards at all.
I did not listen to Trump's speech simply because I never listen to political speeches.
But I am confident from reporters I trust that he did not call for supporters to break into the Capitol building and cause trouble.
The trouble was nowhere near the death and destruction during leftist riots last summer.
I still have no idea what purpose a rally on January 6, 2021 served.
The election was final on December 16, 2020. The Senate process on January 6 was just a formality. Some debate on state electors would have been allowed. But the state electors pick the president, not the Senate or vice president.
There is one horrible precedent of of a Vice President --Thomas Jefferson -- interfering with the Georgia electoral votes, when he was running for president, where doing that made him the president. Yet he is on Mount Rushmore?
