to mention that on TV ?
The COVID-19 pandemic
is still in progress, so it
is impossible to know
how it ends.
That means
there are
no experts yet,
including me.
I don't know
how it will end.
But I'm very
comfortable with
"I don't know".
I wish Trump
and Dr. Fauchi
were too.
The deaths per day
are already down
a lot.
The death rate is low,
except if you are a
senior citizen, like me.
The "anti-maskers" are
science deniers -- any
mask will reduce the
distance you can "spray
water vapor carrying
germs when you cough,
sneeze or holler at the police.
A violent cough can "spray"
20 feet - a mask might cut
that in half.
What about the
"magic" six feet ?
Want to study the science
behind the six foot social
distancing ?
Forget it, there is no science
involving the COVID-10 virus,
except to speculate that six
feet is better than three feet,
and not as good as 12 feet !
So why not skip the mask
and just stay home if you
have a cough or don't feel
well ?
Because
a lot of infected
(mainly younger)
people have no idea
they are infected,
but may be able to
infect other people,
so masks are like an
insurance policy,
needed only when
you are near people.
Don't tell people to wear
masks because doctors
wear them -- they wear
better masks and
for a different reason:

and adjusting your mask,
or your face -- that could
be worse than no mask

There may be a vaccine
to prevent COVID one day,
or maybe not.
We already live with
about 150 viruses --
so we may have to live
with 151.
It's sad that such
a deadly disease
happened during
an election year,
and has been
used to attack
the president,
who actually does not
have that much power
to tell states and cities
what to do.
It was state governors
who decided that
grossly increasing
the unemployment rate
among young and healthy
working people, and shutting
schools, would save the lives
of retired old timers like me,
and especially frail people
in nursing homes.
Did it work ?
We don't know yet.
But there are too
many deaths
already to assume
a U.S. success.
Blame Trump ?
Trump provided
a huge amount
of talking,
with lots of wrong
speculation,
and far too much
unjustified
cheerleading.
His advisor,
Democrat Dr. Fauci,
seemed to be
guessing too, but
with a negative bias.
The state governors
were in charge,
and still are.
Four statistics
about COVID
are important,
but the leftist
biased media
prefers to scare
people with the
first one:

( you don't need
any test to know
you need help ! )

COVID.
