I have never understood why that
"they all look alike" saying
is supposed to be funny,
because it is not even close
to being true.
to being true.
I do understand why it is thought to be racist.
Except, perhaps,
when Hillary Clinton says it !
when Hillary Clinton says it !
Every week I shop at a nearby supermarket
where it seems over 90% of the patrons
are African Americans. Other people
in my neighborhood drive further
to another branch of the supermarket,
where over 90% of the customers are white.
But I rarely go there -- it is boring.
All the rich white people look alike,
and are not friendly.
All the rich white people look alike,
and are not friendly.
If you like to 'people-watch',
as I do, I find that the patrons
in my supermarket are much more
interesting, because they don't even
come close to looking alike.
But what do I know?
I thought it was ridiculous
to call Barack Obama "black"
when he had a white mother,
and was raised by white people
... but no one I know agrees with me !
Many Americans called "black"
are actually mixed races -- I have
only met one person in my life
I considered "black" -- he was from
Nigeria, and spent a lot of time
in the sun -- his skin was black.
Almost everyone else called "black"
actually has brown skin,
in various shades,
some shades
very attractive
that white people
bake in the sun for,
but never match.

I prefer to divide people
into three groups,
into three groups,
by a attribute
much more important
than skin color,
much more important
than skin color,
( which really doesn't matter ):
(1) People with straight hair,
(2) People with curly hair, and
(3) People with no hair, or almost no hair.
I used to be a (2), but now am a (3)
Hillary Clinton appeared
amused with herself
after making a joke
during an interview
that could be interpreted
as racist against black people.
Clinton sat down with Kara Swisher
for the Recode Decode podcast
over the weekend.
Swisher asked Clinton about
former Attorney General Eric Holder’s
comment that:
“When they go low,
“When they go low,
we kick ’em.
That’s what this
That’s what this
new Democratic Party
is about.”
is about.”
The overall topic
of this part of the discussion
was the question of
whether Democrats
were becoming the victim of
too much political correctness.
Here’s how the exchange went:
Swisher:
What do you think of Cory Booker’s comment … What do you think about him saying “kick them in the shins,” essentially?
Clinton:
Well, that was Eric Holder.
Swisher:
Eric Holder, I’m sorry.
Clinton:
"I know they all look alike."
Swisher:
No they don’t.
(Audience laughs)
Swisher:
Well done.
Clinton:
I was paid by Mark Zuckerberg to do that.
Swisher:
Can I just say ...
